Meet #53 | 30/07/14 | Hosted by SMWS
A bit of an unofficial meet but 4 of the club (including a returning Sas) went to SMWS Queen Street for the 'Society Share' tasting - choosing 3 rare cask end bottles to finish off and take home.

Stewed apricots, a date slice, cinnamon, marzipan, candied almonds and a bit of Simon's Mother's fruit cake (I think this will apply to most Mum's fruitcakes). That sweet fruity cakeyness was complemented by the opening of mahogany chest of drawers and stitching the antique to the sweet, some Werther's Originals. The nose was our favourite part of this.

Toffee, sweet, "mmm", simple sugars, oily, carrot cake and an orange ice lolly. It was perhaps a bit too simple, although it was very sweet and drinkable. A bit like what candy floss is to food.

It finished with a candy casing, some leather and petrol , a slight, drying Oloroso thing at the end. There was also bitterness, florals, some tea tannins and hibiscus. Apparently, there was slight war on the tongue, with S&M toy soldiers.. I'm not too sure where that came from.

~£102 (70cl)
