A shop was descended on with a buzzer-only entry (not for the first time in the host's life) to purchase a couple of behind-the-counter drams. Our first Octomore and a relatively unsung Linkwood in a popular G&M series. (Then a bonus Octomore a few days later..)

Smells
Old lemons? Parma violets, bananas and custard, mashed bananas, marzipan, pine resin, wet billtong (when its still bloody), cut grass, hay, old hard lime peel and orangey sweets.
Tastes
Maybe peppery cucumber actually. A biscuit from Pleasantsville. Cucumber, apples, thyme honey and licorice. Sour, musty old wardrobe, salty lassie and Armstrong's back room - really nice.
Finishes
Toffee. Tangfastic, E-number tang, sherbet with a bit of a backburn. Similarly, a bee string with honey in it - long and light. "It left my mouth dry".
Comments
Finally! Oh man, this has become delicious. Nice strength, surprised it has this oomph. First taste would have been maybe a point less - it got better as it went on. Way better than expected, a true delight.
Cost
~£38 (70cl)
