Meet Deets
Meet #11   |   04/06/11   |   Hosted by Phil at The Cambs
A bottle chosen due to proximity to a holiday cottage, this relatively undrunk bottle proved a surprise hit, rich and intriguing.
Other bottles sampled:
#25 Glencadam Portwood | SSWC review 11b
Smells
On the nose comes the fresh fruity zing of lemon, grapes, gooseberry, blackcurrant, and even sherbert. Ameretto makes an appearance and definate toffee to add to the sweetness while prunes and dates compete for the same space. Chinese rice wine and white wine vinegar add a different dimension along with the leftfield rollmop. Yum.
Tastes
Vanilla ice cream, or is it hazelnut praline? Cherry, raisons, honey and heather contrast with licorice and wood, leaving pepper and chilli to fight it out in your mouth.

Part of the Flora & Fauna range, this sherried dram is a hidden gem.
Finish & Comments
Licorice and raison again in the aftertaste but there in the background are maple syrup, sundrided tomatoes, custard and red cabbage all wrapped up in a wooly jumper.
Cost
~£32 (70cl)
