Tastes & Smells
Classic grain on the nose, pleasantly sweet and creamy. Straight into bonfire toffee in the mouth, intense (I forget if this was intensely bonfire toffee-y or intense in general, but both seem to fit with my memory). It tastes of sweet things, but not in a sweet way.. not simple sugars or a big sweetness dominating, just flavours of things that happen to be sweet (does this make any sense?!). Lime, mint and acetone also feature, and towards the end I was definitely getting those little pizza snacks you get on the continent. These turned into full-blown pizza on the finish, accompanied by light wood and mint choc chip ice cream.
Graintacular?
I really liked it. It had a very enjoyable intensity, and although it followed a classic grain profile, it was a very tasty and rich example. I even wrote "m" down at the end of my notes, clearly got distracted at that point - if it says anything about my memory of this whisky, I'm guessing I was going to write "mmm".
Summary & Ramblings
I tasted this on a canal barge, along with quite a few others. Opinions seemed quite similar of those around me, a general winner. It was tasted with 4 silent still malts, probably hitting the top 3 of a fair few people's ratings. It was probably the least canal-y of the lot though, if such a definition exists. The others were gentler, floral/fruity Lowland-profile types, which is what canals make me think of. for some reason.

tldr;
A very nice, intense, classic grain.. pizza and mint seemed the key defining characteristics out of the norm. I remember it fondly, and would definitely have another dram if it swung my way.
